INDIVIDUAL APPROACH

For us the experience must be distinctive – we supply the best service wherever we go but never lose the flexibility and individual approach. Therefore have we developed an unique Classic Rally-Style Driving Concept for Beyond Adventure, not competing for the fastest time but instead for the most precise timing. This means you drive and navigate by yourself independently. Of course, the support team is always close by and for the most challenging stages, the entire group stays together.

YOUR TEAM

The passion for adventures is deep within our vastly experienced event team. We always aim for the best possible comfort and always ensure you are never alone. In case of an emergency, break down or a simple puncture, there is a solution assisted by the Beyond Adventure team. So, although you drive solitary, you are never alone, even in the most remote areas. On special adventures a Beyond Adventure paramedic is present to ensure premedical assistance in an unlikely emergency. Same goes for vehicle issues if needed a specially trained technician is on site. For all Beyond Adventures the team always includes a local guide to explain about the area and inform about local habits and traditions, simply to widen your horizon – as Hans Christian Andersen said: “to travel is to live.”

Behind the scenes, a team of travel experts is on alert from start to finish following your progress via GPS tracking for your safety and comfort – always ready to support.

The experience starts already when signing in, from that moment you can always rely on our support. Our adventure starts at the arrival airport. From here all is taken care of all the way to the departure airport. Get ready to explore the world you

DAY 3

Today marks an early start. Get familiar with the car and start out with easy tarmac driving while heading south towards one of the world most dramatic ranges, the Atlas Mountains which we cross at 2200 m, here the tarmac sporadically gives way to gravel setting the tone for the rest of the adventure.

The descent is a succession of lush valleys and bare rock walls, although wild and harsh, the area has long been inhabited by Berbers, whose flat-roofed, earthen villages seem to have grown out of the mountainsides, above terraced gardens and orchards of walnuts and fruit trees. The colours of the natural landscapes alternate throughout the day from the snow-capped summits to the verdant valleys of the Atlas, taking us to the Unesco World Heritage Site Ait Ben Haddou - the most fascinating red mud and straw fortress that has formed the backdrop to many historical films.

Frozen in time still resembling its days in the 11th century; movie lovers may recognize it from Lawrence of Arabia, Jesus of Nazareth, Gladiator, and Game of Throne. The route continues further south through the arid, pinkand- ochre-coloured chain of the Anti-Atlas on a very pleasant speed road to reach the gateway into the golden dunes of the Sahara Desert. Our destination for tonight lies in the heart of the Zagora palm grove, one of the world’s largest palm groves and a world of its own, made of dates and mint tea.

DAY 4

Following yesterday’s long drive, today a late start is allowing you some self-indulgence by the pool; before the driving starts. As you leave the Zagora palm grove behind and head further south, along the Jbel Tadrart mountain range, on off road arid tracks offering first views of the desert outskirts and giving you a taste of this breath-taking natural wonder until finally the mighty Sahara desert comes into view.

Let the Sahara adventure begin! Entering the impressive Iriki National Park, home to numerous desert species during the brief wet period, especially birds, a fun drive through beds of sand awaits, leading to the renowned Erg Cheggaga dunes, a phenomenal endless sea of sand with dunes of up to 300m.

The best place for some sensational fun driving in the high dunes behind the steering wheel of a buggy! As the sun sets on the sand undulating into infinity, the day ends in a magical Desert Camp. Before sleeping under the mesmerizing starry desert sky experience the tastes of a typical Moroccan dinner.

DAY 5

A day of unforgettable impressions, and an exhilarating sense of freedom is ahead of you as you dive deeper in the heart and remoteness of the sun kissed Sahara desert, broken up by occasional oases and villages. Rise early with the sun to witness the spectacular light among the dunes before setting off in the footprint of some of the most stunning ‘Dakar Rally’ tracks. A long thrilling drive awaits you, on ‘moon like’ terrain, sand, and smoothest gravel roads that will put your driving skills to the test - the desert in its purest form!

DAY 6

Today it is time to get up early again. Be ready for an intoxicating stretch of driving on untamed beach heavens, at the Atlantic Ocean. The tides in the area will determine our entry and exit time.Navigation continues along dirt tracks, cliffs and beaches beside dunes passing sporadic seaside villages and the small town of Sidi Ifni, an old Spanish enclave with an Andalusian flair and some Art Deco Architecture.

The route unfolds through the Souss-Massa National Park, an impressive diverse habitat that ranges from endless beaches and cultivated fields to intimidating sand dunes, rocky cliffs and Argan trees.

Home to numerous bird species as well as the Dorcas gazelle, North African ostrich, and Oryx, it is particularly unique for hosting the only remaining Northern Bald Ibis. Called the grandmother of Marrakech for its similar ramparts, the lively town of Taroudant has the feel of a small fortified market town on a caravan route, and will be your home for the night in the lush gardens of an eco-lodge, built with natural materials and ancestral techniques.

DAY 7

This morning, the compass is set for northeast, getting ready to cross back the majestic High Atlas to reach Marrakech, experiencing one of the most spectacular drives in the country. The narrow tarmac road weaves its way up through the Mountains - a thrilling ride with plenty of hairpins culminating on the Tizi n’Test pass at an elevation of 2.092m. The road is a spectacular feat of engineering built by the French colonialists between 1926 and 1932 linking the Mountains to the Sahara for the very first time. The views! ….They are pretty good when you start and as you climb higher and higher the scenery quickly passes through amazing to spectacular, by passing jaw-dropping all together, and ending up at unbelievable.

As you begin your descent, driving along the Toukbal National Park, with views of snow-capped 4167m Jbel Toubkal, North Africa’s highest peak, literally every corner offers a new sight, whether it’s a village clinging precariously to the hillside or a river snaking along, glinting in the midday sun. Once down in the valley, a beautifully sleepy Berber village nestled at the foot of the High Atlas, offers a perfect spot for a lunch in the nature. The route continues then, through the Amimiz region in the middle of olive groves onto the peaceful Lalla Takerkoust Lake before reaching the Red city of Marrakech. To recount this incredible adventure, a farewell dinner awaits in pure Moroccan tradition.

It is the time to say “see you next time” to all the similarminded Adventurers whom you have shared this unique experience with. Tomorrow you will be transferred to the airport, unless you take a few extra days to explore further or relax in this wonderful place on earth.
