We’ve just wrapped up Beyond Adventure Bhutan 2024, and once again the Kingdom in the Himalayas proved why it remains one of the most extraordinary destinations on earth.

Bhutan has a rare ability to leave a lasting impression on everyone who visits. The scenery is spectacular, with mountain roads climbing through forests, valleys and high passes, but what truly makes the country special is its atmosphere. There is a calmness and authenticity that feels increasingly rare in today’s world. Bhutan’s famous philosophy of Gross National Happiness may sound like a tourism slogan, yet after spending time there, it becomes clear that it is deeply woven into everyday life.

For the participants, this was far more than a sightseeing trip. Staying true to the Beyond Adventure philosophy, the experience was built around driving and exploration. Behind the wheel of Mahindra vehicles, the groups travelled through a constantly changing landscape, tackling winding mountain roads, remote tracks and carefully selected off-road sections that revealed parts of Bhutan rarely seen by visitors.

The adventure combined technical driving challenges with cultural discovery. One moment participants were navigating narrow mountain roads with breathtaking views across the Himalayas, the next they were visiting ancient monasteries, meeting local communities or enjoying traditional Bhutanese hospitality. Every day brought a new route, a new challenge and another opportunity to experience the country from a perspective unavailable to ordinary tourists.

That is what sets Beyond Adventure apart. While most visitors experience Bhutan from the back seat of a minibus, our participants take the driver’s seat. The road becomes part of the experience rather than simply a way to get from one attraction to another. The sense of achievement, freedom and discovery creates a much deeper connection with the country and its people.

The success of Bhutan 2024 has already confirmed one thing: we will be back in 2025.
