The Beyond Adventure African Highlands is an unforgettable overland driving adventure through Rwanda and Uganda, two of the most spectacular countries in East Africa. Behind the wheel of a car from the Beyond Adventure fleet, you will travel approximately 2,000 km through diverse landscapes including savannahs, volcanic mountains, rainforests, and lakes.
Rwanda, known as the “Land of a Thousand Hills,” is famous for its clean cities, safety, and incredible natural beauty. Highlights include the Virunga volcanoes and Nyungwe Forest, one of the oldest and best-preserved rainforests in Africa.
Crossing into Uganda, often called the “Pearl of Africa,” the adventure continues through lush landscapes rich with wildlife. Uganda is home to the Rwenzori Mountains, the source of the Nile, and some of Africa’s most remarkable national parks.
During this expedition you will see lions, elephants, rhinos, hippos, and other wildlife. The true highlight, however, is the unforgettable close encounter with chimpanzees and endangered mountain gorillas in their natural habitat.
