Mount Etjo Special Namibia

Today we begin a very special adventure.

KALMAR Beyond Adventure is normally about exploring the world through passionate and unique driving experiences. But this time, the road is not the focus. Instead, we step into the wild to experience the raw and authentic wildlife of Africa — something few people ever get the chance to witness.

This rare program cannot be found in any catalogue. It has been made possible by the incredible team at Mount Etjo, with Annette Oelofse leading the way.

This adventure is reserved for the few who managed to secure their seats. But you can still be part of the journey (if you book your seat for next edition 28.08 – 6.09).

Follow our social media over the coming days as we share this unforgettable experience from the heart of Africa.

KALMAR Beyond Adventure. We start where the others stop.

MOUNT ETJO SPECIAL – created in partnership with the Mount Etjo Wildlife team, this unique adventure is unlike anything we have done before. Step into the heart of African conservation, where elephants, rhinos, and lions roam free. With limited driving and a focus on wildlife encounters, you’ll experience intimate moments in nature, guided by experts who dedicate their lives to protecting it.

Annette Oelofse started raising and caring for orphaned animals from a young age, but it wasn’t until 1995, when she received a 7-day old, malnutritioned rhino orphan, that she realized her absolute passion – to raise, care, save, protect and conserve this wonderful and vulnerable, iconic specie.

This rhino, as well as so many others through the years, was saved from the doorstep of certain death and given a second chance at life, to live out a wild and fully productive life on the Okonjati Wildlife Sanctuary. Nossie, who was the first orphan saved by Annette, already gave birth to 11 calves to date.

Annette’s philosophy and aim is to raise the young orphans as wild as possible, with minimal human contact, to achieve a smooth integration and reintroduction back into the wild population and their natural habitat.
