Beyond Adventure RS-C

A sporty alternative for an off-road vehicle breaking new ground.

While the Beyond Adventure RS designation remains short for Rally Special, the C in RS-C stands for a new chapter. Opening a whole new territory, this third drive concept for the Beyond Adventure Safari Range is based on a mid-engined donor platform. A new car was born, combining decades of experience in creating adventure-ready sports cars for exploration, off-road driving, mountain passes, and racing on snow and frozen lakes. The RS-C takes this foundation as its starting point and delivers something mind-blowing. The agility and performance are almost redefining. Weighing in from 1360 kg ready to go including a full tank of fuel, the RS-C can be optioned with a six-speed manual or a double-clutch gearbox.

Using the acclaimed Beyond Adventure RS as a benchmark, the RS-C is built to be a sporty alternative to an off-road car that can tackle most terrains. Beyond Adventure engineers identified a number of carry-over parts from earlier platforms to speed development and ensure proven reliability. The mid-engine layout provides near perfect weight distribution, with enough weight in the rear for traction yet enough balance at the front to deliver fast steering response and confident handling, even on pure ice.

Owning a vehicle from the Beyond Adventure Safari Range means owning a machine engineered for real driving, built for lengthy off-grid adventures. Two luggage compartments make long journeys practical as well as thrilling. The motivation has always been to create the perfect car for passionate drivers who want to push beyond normal limits, and today the RS-C is ready to explore places no other mid-engined adventure car has gone before.

Drawing on Beyond Adventure’s engineering expertise and network of trusted partners, the RS-C is delivered as a bespoke package built with top-tier components. Every specification can be adapted to the wishes of its owner, completely individualised. With infinite options available, only the client’s imagination sets the limits of what the RS-C can be.

The RS-C is able to take on any terrain and every challenge ahead. It can be created in left- or right-hand drive and with manual, tiptronic or double-clutch gearbox options.

The Exterior

The longer wheelbase and shorter body overhang of the Beyond Adventure RS-C not only give the car great presence but also improve usability on difficult terrain. Tackling adventures that most mid-engined sports cars would never attempt, the exterior makes it clear that the RS-C is built for purpose. A handmade, rear-mounted spare wheel, a roof-fitted jerrycan holder and a rally-ready LED light bar complete the package, allowing drivers to explore confidently even at night. Every element of the exterior has been designed with deliberate performance and functionality in mind, shaped to meet the client’s vision of perfection.

Built with purpose, the RS-C includes full underbody protection and additional shielding for front-mounted coolers to ensure it can overcome almost any obstacle. An optional cross-towbar design adds further protection and provides another reinforced recovery point for use when stuck.

Because the donor mid-engined platform is significantly younger than many classic air-cooled models, build time is often reduced as a full restoration is not always required. However, Beyond Adventure can carry out a complete restoration if the client prefers. As with all projects, a wide range of options are available through both the standard and extended specification list. Standard rally-style features include higher ground clearance for uncharted journeys, achieved through a combination of larger off-road tyres, exclusive Beyond Adventure shock absorbers and spaced subframes.

The final appearance is completed with a bespoke livery created in collaboration with the customer, ensuring that each RS-C stands out as a true one-of-a-kind.

The Interior

The arrival of the Beyond Adventure RS-C also welcomes the double luggage compartment that offers significantly more space than any 911 – vital for when the car is used for long overland drives.

With distinctive features available for each individual Beyond Adventure RS-C, it starts by realising the true meaning behind the RS-C – light weight, poised for fast reaction and durability when used for endurance travelling. Beyond Adventure Safari Range “if it is not needed – let’s remove it” philosophy prevails, and the result is a durable yet minimal lightweight interior that is also comfortable, with a hint-of-adventure luxury. Each cabin comes equipped with the same Recaro sports seats as in the previous RS, including the as-standard rear roll protection bar that is added for extra safety. This quest for lightness includes the removal of all noise insulation and other comfort items, like the Hi-Fi system for example, which further enhances the atmosphere of a raw cockpit, allowing occupants to hear the roar of the engine, generating an authentic race experience in every way possible.

The engineers can offer a further weight reduction package, which sees the removal of the air-conditioning system, airbags etc., if necessary, especially if next-level rallying is the goal. Further rally-specific competition equipment such as a full roll cage, a fly-off handbrake and trip-master timing systems are also available and can be included if required.

The Technical Specifications

The bespoke build process of the Beyond Adventure Safari Range programme is not just about looking tough. Every upgrade has been selected with rally-inspired performance in mind.

Each car retains its original flat-six engine, starting with 300 hp as standard, with a range of tuning levels available depending on the customer’s wishes. The drivetrain conversion includes a limited-slip differential to ensure traction across all surfaces.

Where most drivers notice the difference is in the bespoke lifted suspension. An increase of eight centimetres delivers a total ground clearance of 20 centimetres, comparable to that of a high-riding SUV. This has been achieved with a significantly strengthened, rally-inspired upside-down shock absorber set-up, subframe drops, and specially engineered top mounts. An enhanced strut brace has also been added to distribute high loads across the front suspension. An optional adaptive shock absorber upgrade is available, where the valving is continuously monitored and adjusted according to the surface. Body roll is controlled electronically.

To ensure durability, all bushes are replaced and the driveshafts are upgraded to cope with higher-than-standard angles. Customers can also choose a softer spring set-up and a detachable anti-roll bar, giving the RS-C the versatility to handle a wide variety of terrain.

The build is finished with unique, lightweight, narrow alloy wheels fitted with either all-terrain tyres or rally-style spiked winter tyres, designed for maximum capability in extreme conditions.
